However, its legislations permit authorizations and particular regulations seem to leave those changes unattended. Whales Observation contributes to the reduction of local riots of the ecosystems in use, but not to reduce the derivate impacts from more intense coastal activities. We unveiled and discuss the legal realm of Whales Observation, analyzing its defi ciencies and repercussions about the activity and ecosystems, illustrating the case of Laguna San Ignacio, BCS and Bahia de Banderas, Nayarit-Jalisco. We propose changes in the permits are given.
