AB  - The granting of intellectual property rights and its procedure before the national
o regional office have been always one of the principal subjects of study by the
academy and one of the principal aims of entrepreneurs. Notwithstanding the
management of this sort of property and the technology transfer that it implies
must be the cornerstone of a country which wishes to improve its innovation level.
The study of typology of contracts having intellectual property rights as their main
subject matter is the first step in order to achieve a better understanding of this
area and their implications, not only in the technical field, but also in the economy
and ultimately in the whole society. This article deals with different categories
of technology transfer agreements, starting with the concepts of technology and
technology transfer and furthermore analysing each category from the point of
view of different legal systems.
