A comparison is made with a similar process undertaken in Castile. Having clarified certain questions and definitions, the study begins with the abolition of the feudal system to its widest sense, l'eversione della feudalitá, including the transformation of feudal and common property into liberal property. Secondly, there are definitions of the most important concepts to the feudal system in southern Italy, which refer to different types of common land, and which will be the major objectives of legislation to abolish the feudal system. This legislation will conform to the liberal criteria for the abolition of common lands and the establishment of private, unlimited and unrestricted ownership
