Summary: Despite being one of the main methods used to inspect staff working for the Administration during the reign of the Austrias, the 'visit' in Castile has rarely been studied. The present article aims to analyse the 'visit' of Ramírez Fariña to the High Court of Seville between the years 1623 and 1632. Having looked at the general features of his 'visit' to South America, this paper studies bis 'visit' to the High Court in 1623 and examines both the preliminary hearings and their outcome. Consequently, this paper, which studies the nomination of the visiting judge, analyses his functions and how he proceeded with his investigations. It examines the results of the 'visit' and the sanctions imponed by the Council of Castile on the members of the Seville High Court
