An enormous volume of information for the study of the Late Middle Ages is to be found in the "Archivo General de Navarra and especially in the section of the "Comptos (Accounts), which contains the archives of the former "Cámara de Comptos". Professor Carrasco and his research group have begun the edition of eight volumes of taxation documents, beginning with the second half of the 13th century. As a result of the publication of these documents, several research papers have been published and it has been possible to establish the different types of taxation documents that existed. This article also studies the different stages in the elaboration of these "libros de comptos". The publication of these documents will permit the study of the evolution of the taxation process and will give insight into how tax administration functionedLa Universidad Pública de Navarra y el Gobierno de Navarra, colaboran desde hace cuatro años en un proyecto de edición de fuentes documentales fiscales de la Edad Media navarra. El Archivo General de Navarra, y en especial la sección de "Comptos", depositaria del archivo de la antigua Cámara de Comptos, aporta un enorme caudal de información para el estudio de la Baja Edad Media. El profesor Carrasco y sus colaboradores han iniciado la edición de ocho volúmenes de documentación fiscal, iniciada en la segunda mitad del siglo XIII. Estas publicaciones han permitido ya la elaboración de algunos trabajos, y el establecimiento de una primera tipología de la documentación contable. Este artículo plantea aquí unas fases de elaboración de estos libros de comptos.
