These circumstances propitiated a relation of symbiotic nature between Napoleon and the group of representatives of Overseas. Both parts extracted profit in favour of their respective interests from this relationship.La Constitución de Bayona de 1808 fue el primer texto constitucional español que intentó articular las bases de un modelo de organización política colonial sobre el principio de igualdad territorial.
