This paper describes research about women
working in Road Transportation in Andalusia, that was
supported by the European Union through the Adapt
Initiative (Adapt-Bis TransActiv 1998-99, number: 98-
A-1926-AND). It pays attention to the participation,
functions, training needs and laboral insertion
possibilities for women in the road transportation
enterprises. The universe were the enterprises
associated with Fenadismer Andalucía (organization
with 3.528 members in 1998). The anlize of the results
coming from a survey, focal groups and different
interviews in-depth. The main conclusions were the
important differentiation of functions between men and
women in the sector (due to the gender), though it was
possible encounter some cases of young women
(specially) with modern viewpoints about theirs laboral
insertion in the road transportation sector. |
